Recorded Series - Yusuf Q. Erskine, DO

"Since I have been seeing Dr. Erskine for osteopathy, the following has occurred: First, I was able to cancel surgery on my finger. Second, almost 12 months after knee surgery, I still had pain that an additional cortisone shot from the surgeon did not resolve; however, after just a few sessions with Dr. Erskine, my knee is completely fine, and I can walk down staircases without holding on to the banister. Currently, we are working on my shoulders, which have never been pain-free since the crutches I had to use for two months after my knee surgery. Physical therapy and a personal trainer helped to increase my strength, but they did nothing to relieve pain or improve my internal alignment; however, after one osteopathic treatment, my range of motion increased without pain."

“Dr. Erskine is a gifted teacher and guide to self-awareness and health.” “Congratulations on your Osteopathic and yoga practice. You are a fabulous mentor and person! ”

"Yusuf facilitates our practice with grace and presence. He provides enough repetition for familiarity and depth, with variety for ease and flow. He brings his multifaceted experiences and many years of yoga practice and teaching to support our sessions, sometimes with thoughtful quotes from those who came before. I appreciate his wisdom, mentorship, and caring."

“I received so much from being in your course. I particularly loved the education on emotional intelligence. Your guidance is expert and caring, and the group felt safe, open and nurturing. I really appreciated learning about the many assessment tools, and I learned so much about myself from taking them. So helpful for my own growth and wellness, and for my caring for meaningfully for patients.”

“Many times a yoga instructor has an established, repetitive routine for their classes. I have always been amazed how each of Yusurf’s classes were unique; not the same old, same old poses every class. I have incorporated many of the poses and practices into my weight training routine; using the poses to stretch before lifting and then applying awareness and breathing to my weight training. Kudos.”

"I have had severe backaches on and off for many years. As a retired nurse, it goes without saying that I have had numerous back injuries. Lifting patients twice my size does not bode well for one's spine. In the past several months, most of the back pain has become continuous and debilitating. Chiropractic care helped a little, but I was still unable to walk or stand without severe pain. So I looked into osteopathy and found Dr. Erskine. After only four treatments, I am able to walk four blocks almost pain-free—what a joy! I will continue to be treated osteopathically and look forward to a comfortable future."

"Dear Dr. Erskine, Thank you for your part in the healing of my back injury. I am more than 90% recovered and stronger than I have been in a long time."

"Osteopathy has helped me inhabit my body more fully and congruently. It is so gentle and yet very effective. I am amazed at “Dr. Radar Fingers” and the ability to find the spot that needs attention the most. It is an amazing modality that deserves more attention for what it can accomplish."

"Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of my heading into septic shock. I realized that it has indeed been 2 brief years and also realized how blessed and lucky I am (at almost 67) to still be alive and well. You have played a major role in both those blessings. I wondered, too, if I ever made an attempt at letting you know how deeply I appreciate your caring, your talents, and your being my doctor. I hope you have some idea how incredibly comforting it is for me to have you as a balancing factor as I walk this tightrope of health. So please consider this a simple “Thank you”… it is both deeply heartfelt and incredibly understated."

"As a long-time patient of Dr. Yusuf Erskine, before starting homeopathic treatment with him, I was very skeptical when he suggested that homeopathy could help me with my 20-year chronic migraines, for which I had tried many medications. However, I agreed to try his homeopathic treatments, and over time they have helped me considerably with my migraines. In addition, he has treated me for allergies and high blood pressure. In both cases, I have been able to stop taking typical (allopathic) medications for them. It's been quite a revelation."
